Pay Rate: $12.00

Key Components:

This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) Students only. 

The Social Media Intern is responsible for creating engaging content & executing digital strategies to enhance Waco Habitat for Humanity & ReStore's presence on various social media platforms.  This position focuses on increasing community engagement, promoting events, and raising awareness about WHFH's mission and activities through targeted social media outreach.  

  • In a student employee capacity, may assist in working with external community service partners.
  • This is a off-campus position and reliable transportation is important.
  •  Bi-lingual is preferred but not required.

Job Description:

  • Work with local organization(s) or community partners
  • Basic Canva skills are preferred and must be comfortable with website updates & media publishing. 
  • Must have good knowledge of major social media platforms and content creation tools, excellent writing, editing & communication skills.  
  • Help plan & execute social media campaigns for fundraising events and community outreach as well as track analytics & engagement metrics to access campaign effectiveness & suggest improvements.
  •  Develop & schedule creative content including graphics, videos & stories to promote Waco Habitat's work.  
  • Will need to assist the Director of Homeowner Services, Director of Development and Director of ReStore Operations in managing and updating social media platforms.   
  • Provide excellent customer service as a representative of the University
  • May assist with planning, organizing, and implementing community services or programs
  • May assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community projects
  • May contribute to developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners
  • May serve as a source to provide information about resources and assistance related to community program(s) or service(s)
  • May serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community 
  • Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
  • May prepare and present information in a group or workshop setting
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
