Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings- plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can’t solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we’re looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.
VP of Travelport+ has been newly created to lead the strategic evolution of Travelport’s marque Product. The new VP of Travelport+ will be tasked with creating a customer centric Product culture that delivers engaging and intuitive workflows, that ultimately drives user adoption and competitive differentiation across the air search, shop, sell and service capabilities.
Principal Accountabilities:
The Senior Director / VP of Travelport+ Product will lead and (re)form their Product Management organisation and will be accountable for:
- Defining (in conjunction with VP Global Product), and executing a comprehensive Product strategy and vision, that evolves and simplifies the current product capabilities and CX and strengthens Travelport’s value proposition in the market to support growth ambitions
- Leading, shaping and developing a high performance, geographically dispersed, Product team of Product Managers and Business Analysis to create high quality, user-centric, intuitive Product that solves customer pain points and simplifies workflows
- Driving a culture of collaboration across corporate functions, including commercial, marketing and engineering to ensure cohesive prioritised product development, product roadmaps and product launch
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis to differentiate and enhance CX and drive product customer loyalty and user adoption
- Fostering a culture of innovation across the Product organisation and educating and championing the both new ways of working and the ‘art of the possible’ to the SLT and stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
To be effective in the role, the best candidates will have a demonstrable track record of successful Product Leadership roles and are specifically likely to have a deep travel industry domain knowledge. The are also specifically likely to have:
- Experience of full life cycle Product Management, taking a strategy from concept to full market release.
- Significant leadership credentials to create, lead and reshape the team and move the people and organisation to the future state during a time of significant change
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a logical and data-driven approach to decision making
- A strong technical knowledgebase that includes an understanding of software engineering principles, API strategies, content caching, real time transaction processing and an appreciation of AI applications
- A deep understanding of Product Management processes, methodologies and tools
- Outstanding communication skills to educate the team and wider functions about Product Management, Product roadmaps and strategies and new ways of working
- Strong commercial credentials to support GTM strategies, define investment budgets and product KPI’s (adoption, utilisation, churn, team, delivery)
- Experience of working at a strategic level to be credible and operate effectively at and contribute to the Product and Technology leadership team
- Strong influencing skills to work effectively with the executive leadership team, the P&T peer group, the Product and business stakeholders and customer teams
- A strong customer centric service ethic
- A strength of character to successfully drive and embed change across the Product function, its ways of working and engagement with stakeholders
- An abundance of common sense and flexibility to deliver and prioritise in a high change environment
