Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing engineering department, production personnel, and process improvements to ensure production safety, quality, and efficiency goals. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician partners with Engineers, Quality, and Production personnel to develop and implement improved manufacturing processes.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leads and manages the preventative maintenance and calibration program for all manufacturing and facility equipment as well as follow cGMP practices to document unplanned PM or out of tolerance conditions.
- Assists Engineers with all tasks related to developing and improving processes. This includes setting up pilot lines, performing designed experiments, manufacturing sample product, perform testing, and documenting results.
- Sets up, tests, and maintains manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoots production/process issues, assists in root cause analysis and manufacturing improvements.
- Trains production team members on operating procedures and work instructions for new processes and equipment.
- Provides input and support for execution of Equipment Qualification and Process Validation Protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Designs and fabricates fixtures for production processes. This may include using a 3D printer, Lathe, drill press, and machining mill.
- Maintain a comprehensive & accurate laboratory notebook.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide production sustaining support such as training, documentation updates, and equipment maintenance/repairs.
- Develop and maintain product structure bill of materials.
- Author and implement appropriate design change orders.
- Work with Quality Engineers to investigate product/process failures and collaborate on developing immediate and preventive measures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills
- High School diploma required- AA, BA, BS degree in technical field preferred.
- Can be an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Working knowledge of the medical device industry is required.
- Working knowledge of Quality System standards & regulations & Quality Assurance.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, specs, method sheets, or other engineering/manufacturing documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Laser welding; good welding practices.
- Basic electronics assembly knowledge.
- SolidWorks design, Microsoft office – Word and Excel.
- Fixture design, fabrication, assembly, and improvements.
- Facilities maintenance is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.
Salary Range
$77,900 - $100,100 ($37.45/hr - $48.13/hr)
*Base pay is one part of your total compensation. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to your experience, knowledge, skills, location, internal equity, and market alignment. Addition compensation may include bonuses and equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
