JOB SUMMARY

A working lead position whish assists the Distribution Supervisor in the designated distribution function(s) which may include shipping, receiving, production picking, replenishment and cycle counting.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receiving Function: (you may be responsible or asked to complete the following duties and responsibilities) 

· Receive and unload incoming materials and ensure accuracy of shipment.

· Operate an Order Selector, Reach Truck, Fork Truck or Turret Truck (depending on duties assigned)

· Assign work duties and evaluation employee performance.

· Actively participate in “Lean” continuous improvement program by identifying and eliminating process waste, participating in kaizen events and ensuring that all standard work is being adhered to

· Assist Warehouse Manager in daily operations of warehouse.

· Monitor and track performance of assigned employees.

· Assist in all aspects of siffron’s warehousing needs.

· Provide information and quick response to needs of internal and external customers.

· Maintain a safe, clean, neat and organized work environment.

· Assist operations on special projects such as providing weights or package specifications, labeling bin or racks, etc.

· Assist in general quality control of product.

· Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and location structure.

· Assist Warehouse Supervisor in employee training.

· May complete accurate paperwork for all shipments received.

· Demonstrate flexibility of schedule as it pertains to accomplishment of dept. goals.

· Adhere to all company policies. Hold direct reports to same standards. Maintain high level of integrity to include fair and equitable treatment of all employees and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Shipping Function: (you may be responsible or asked to complete the following duties and responsibilities)

· Assist in the pick/pack process as needed to ensure timely, accurate and damage free delivery 

· Assign work duties and evaluate employee performance.

· Organize and maintain fixed locations for siffron’s stock in piece/case pick area.

· Actively participate in “Lean” continuous improvement program by identifying and eliminating process waste, participating in kaizen events and ensuring that all standard work is being adhered to

· Assist Warehouse Manager in daily operations of warehouse.

· Monitor and track performance of assigned employees.

· Assist in all aspects of siffron’s warehousing needs.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

· Same day shipping or receiving goals.

· Overall organization, housekeeping and performance of department.

· Excellent attendance and punctuality record.

· Error rate for orders shipped or received and internal audits.

· Inventory accuracy.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

· Direct the day-to-day activities of Distribution Associates and temporary employees (2-15 individuals). 


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 2+ years of warehouse experience  

· Computer literate with regards to warehouse management, business systems, and Microsoft applications

· Tow motor & reach truck experience, turret truck experience desirable 


SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)

· Good interpersonal, coaching, leadership and communication skills

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Good math, grammar and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Ability to handle multiple tasks.

· Ability to solve problems and communicate resolution to appropriate personnel.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

· High energy level, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and perform under pressure.

· Good math aptitude.

· Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
