The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving incoming freight, preparing orders for shipment, and the storage of product in the warehouse. He/she will utilize order sheets via computer software to pick a wide variety of wound care and skin care products, pack them, and prepare them for shipment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble boxes. 
  • Bundle products into packs. 
  • Pull and pack product based on daily orders. 
  • Confirm accuracy of orders and sign pick tickets to confirm. 
  • Verify quantity and item codes before shipment. 
  • Generate shipping labels using software. 
  • Tag outgoing freight with correct BOL and shipping labels and seal containers. 
  • Palletize and wrap LTL freight orders. 
  • Move completed orders to staging area for pickup. 
  • Transfer inventory to restock other departments. 
  • Retrieve and prepare items from inventory for shipment to other company distribution centers. 
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks. 
  • Receive new freight, tag materials/product, store in proper location, and enter all new UPC's into system. 
  • Assist with replenishing stock, taking inventory, and reporting shortages. 
  • Daily maintenance and organization of warehouse, including disposal of cardboard and trash. 
  • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. 
  • Follow good warehouse practices and required work safety practices. 
  • Maintain an organized, clean, sanitary, and safe work area. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.  

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent 
  • 2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving, preferably international shipping 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people 
  • Proficient with using tools required for this position 
  • Physically agile and dexterous 
  • Proficient organizational skills 
  • Ability to meet specifics of customer orders in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Good computer skills 
  • Experience with shipping software and inventory systems preferred 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to use the following tools and equipment. 

Ability to use manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, RF scanner, stretch wrap machine, computer, office phone, printer, scanner, copy machine, tape gun, label gun, and bag sealer.
