Perform professional accounting work for the Division of Extended Studies and online programs. Responsibilities will include auditing, analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, reconciling general ledger accounts, creating and updating online program budgets and forecasts. Develop and monitor annual budgets, support the management and implementation of financial systems, generate and analyze financial reports.
This position may have the opportunity to work remotely where all work is performed from an alternative work location either within or outside the state of Idaho.
This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

The Finance and Employee Experience team provides strategic financial guidance, ensures robust internal controls, and drives continuous improvement in business processes. Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:● Serve as an expert resource regarding budget development and management. Prepare reports, schedules and special budgets.
● Develop and continually improve systems for timely, efficient and customer-friendly business processes.
● Create, maintain and revise budget models to forecast revenue and expenses for existing online programs and assist with the preparation of initial budgets for proposed programs.
● Provide support and assistance for academic departments related to these Online Program Fee budgets and assist academic departments with work as appropriate, such as year-end reporting.
● Serve as divisional expert for travel guidance and oversight.
● Serve as contact for divisional grant reporting/financials.
● May perform other duties as needed.
● Ability to develop, analyze, and report on financial data; monitor/review internal financial controls; resolve technical accounting, auditing or budgeting problems; prepare financial documents for management review; analyze financial activities; and recommend or implement management actions.
● Experience with developing budget models and forecasts. Ability to work with existing models and improve them as appropriate.
● Expert computer skills building Excel spreadsheets/Google Sheets, financial models, graphs, and reports. Experience preparing financial statements, schedules, and reports.
● Strong attention to detail.
● Skills in data analysis and reporting.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies to cultivate and strengthen the existing culture or open communication.
● Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with University staff and managers to convey information, exchange concepts and ideas.
● Ability to work within a team as well as independently. Ability to learn, flexibility to respond to input and suggestions, and willingness to work positively with differing perspectives.
● Demonstrated ability to cultivate excellent working organizational relationships.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
● 2 years experience working in higher education.
● 3 years experience in institutional accounting/data systems with specific experience utilizing complex information and financial management systems.
