We are seeking a qualified, dependable, and detail-oriented individual to join our medical team as a Workers' Compensation Coordinator in New Albany, OH. 


 Responsibilities  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers’ compensation patients, employers, adjusters, case managers, and legal representatives.
  • Obtain and verify authorization for all treatment, evaluations, diagnostics, and procedures related to work-related injuries.
  • Coordinate patient care and appointment scheduling in accordance with approved services.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all communications, authorizations, and case activity in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Track treatment plans and upcoming authorization expirations to ensure continuity of care.
  • Submit required documentation and treatment reports to appropriate parties (e.g., BWC, MCO, employers, attorneys) in compliance with Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) guidelines.
  • Assist providers with completion of BWC forms and ensure timely submission to meet regulatory deadlines.
  • Collaborate with billing staff to ensure proper coding and submission of claims for authorized services.
  • Educate patients and staff on workers’ compensation processes and clinic protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and BWC compliance standards.

Requirements

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or workers’ compensation environment
  • Knowledge of Ohio BWC and MCO processes strongly preferred
  • Experience working in pain management, physical therapy, orthopedic, or occupational health settings is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance verification
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment

 

Pay Rate: $17 to $20 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time, 32 - 40 hours per week; 4-day work week rotation, Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday

Location: On-site New Albany , OH
