Functional Description:

DDG is need of a Front Desk Security Coordinator supporting PMA 213. The successful candidate will report directly to the PMA-213 Program Security Manager, as well as the Director of Strategic Planning, Integration & Operations. The PMA-213 Front Desk Security Coordinator is embedded within a program office and is responsible for implementing security protocols at a facility located off a secure base. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and sensitive information through effective monitoring, coordination, and response to security-related incidents. Tasks include verifying, coordinating, facilitating, and implementing program security protocol ensuring adequate controls and protective measures are provided to comply with all applicable DOD, DoN, and NAVAIR security policies and procedures. 

  • Physical Security Management: Oversee building security infrastructure based on requirements; Execute security policies and procedures to safeguard the facility and its assets (e.g., Facility Security Plan that is updated annually).
  • Alarms: Serve as one of the primary POCs that manages and responds to the Building and Secure Room Alarms. Responsible for maintaining the dispatch call list and providing training to all employees on activating/deactivating the alarm when they are issued fobs for door entry.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other agencies to ensure a cohesive security strategy.
  • Monitoring and Surveillance: Utilize security systems and personnel to monitor facility operations and ensure compliance with established security protocols.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security checks and report any suspicious behavior or safety concerns. Participate in monthly security inspections of our secure spaces.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents, alarms, or emergencies, and contact appropriate authorities when necessary.
  • Reporting/Record Keeping: Manage the issuance or key fobs and door entry cards. Maintain a visitor log and issue visitor badges in accordance with security protocols. Document and report all incidents or irregularities to Program Security Manager and elevate to leadership and/or law enforcement if required. 
  • Security Exercises: Support and participate in the main security exercises to include Citadel Shield, Active Shooter Training, HURREX, etc. Being off base in Expedition VII alleviates some of the on base challenges, particularly with regard to gate traffic, however it also presents security risks with less security. Therefore, off-base sites are still expected to fully participate in these exercises. 
  • Fielding General Security Questions: Provide directions and general information to guests and employees. Often times, this will be the first person people see when they enter the spaces. Responsible for answering security-related questions. This can relate to processes/policy, CUI, warning statements, distro statements, spillage incidents, and general questions about the classification of work material. 
  • Classified Meetings: Provide classified meeting support with GVS/SVTC, room set up, visit requests, and additional proper protocol. 
  • Visit Certifications: Responsible for submitting visit requests in DISS for personnel traveling to classified meetings. The Security Personnel would have a DISS account and be able to verify visitors to classified meetings hosted by PMA-213. 
  • SAAR-Ns: Security personnel will be engaged to complete the SAAR-N process to ensure appropriate processing following the established NAVAIR guidelines. 
  • Infrastructure: Perform other security and infrastructure duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Ability to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Exceptional skills in handling emergencies and developing response plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in stressful situations.
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Understanding and ability to stay compliant and up-to-date with all applicable DOD, DoN, and NAVAIR security policies, directives, and procedures.
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders, including law enforcement staff.

Required Experience:

Junior - Less than 3 years of combined experience performing duties described in the functional description. 

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college.  

Or

  • Associate degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. 

Or

  • Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
