By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What you'll be doing
- Acting as a hands-on subject matter expert for Windows technologies, responsible for the design, build, and operational support of enterprise-level Windows systems.
- Shaping strategic solutions and collaborate closely with operations teams and peer architects to ensure both technical and business requirements are met.
- Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing Windows infrastructure solutions.
- Supporting project teams with technical strategy, architecture design, and implementation guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborating with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Developing scripts and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline maintenance and performance monitoring.
- Leading research and development efforts to evaluate new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Ensuring compliance with ITIL processes and contributing to operational excellence.
- Supporting PKI infrastructure and certificate lifecycle management.
- Participating in the definition and enforcement of architectural standards and best practices.
- Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and project teams.
What you'll bring along
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Windows infrastructure within mid to large-scale environments.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Windows Server (2016 and above) and System Center products (SCOM, SCCM, Orchestrator).
- Strong scripting skills, especially in PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, including DHCP, DNS, and GPO.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts, including firewall rules and WAN/LAN principles.
- Familiarity with storage systems, Microsoft SQL Server, and VMware products.
- Experience with PKI implementation, certificate services, and key lifecycle management.
- Understanding of DevOps, modern data centers, and cloud operations.
- Operational background with knowledge of ITIL processes and network operations.
- Strong communication skills, structured thinking, and the ability to maintain a high-level overview.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and work independently in a dynamic, multi-national environment.
- Service-oriented mindset with a proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented approach.
- Experience with McAfee ePO, VirusScan, and Policy Auditor for Windows/Linux.
- Familiarity with certificate-enabled technologies (SSL/TLS, S/MIME, 802.1X, OpenSSL, etc.).
- Experience with CMD, Console, WLST, and performance monitoring tools.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture and Microsoft technologies.
- Ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
