About our game

Taonga: the Island Farm is an immersive exploration and adventure game set on a colorful tropical archipelago.

What begins as a casual farming experience gradually evolves into a rich, multi-layered adventure. Players discover increasing depth through travel, story-driven quests, strategic battles, engaging mini-games, competitive events, and much more—transforming the game into a captivating midcore adventure with sophisticated mechanics.

Taonga was launched as a browser game in 2016 and became an immediate success, beloved by players worldwide. Having initially developed the game on ActionScript 3, by 2019 we have rewritten it from scratch to Haxe and seamlessly migrated to the new client. The game continues to be in active development, with new features, seasonal events and permanent content being added on a regular basis.

We are looking for a talented, focused and driven Frontend Developer to join our team in expanding the world of Taonga and bringing delightful experiences to our players.

Responsibilities

Develop new features within the game client using Haxe
Collaborate with Game designers, UI developers and Backend developers
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets performance requirements
Maintain the game, fix bugs and implement improvements.

Our ideal candidate

Has a genuine passion for playing and developing games
Has 2 years of commercial work experience as a Frontend Game Developer
Knows Haxe or is able to quickly learn and adapt to it
The application process may include a test assignment.

Where you'll be working at

We work on-site in a modern business building in Limassol. We like a lot of space and a lot of air, and we built our office to create a calm and comfortable environment, conductive to the state of flow.

How you'll get there

One thing our team members agree on is that relocation was a breeze. Volka handles all the paperwork to bring you to Cyprus and all the legwork to settle you here. We help with opening the bank account, obtaining permits for you and your family and take over other bureaucratic matters that are an annoying necessity of moving to a new country. For you it will be like booking a vacation with a tourist agency. Except, you know, you'll have to work here.

Moving to a new country may seem a little daunting, and we know that because most of us have been through it. There will be challenges for you to face, including finding a place to live, adjusting to the local way of life and finding new friends. But fear not, for Volka will support you along the way!

We'll arrange for temporary accommodations and provide a transfer to the office until you can find a place of your own
