General Responsibilities:

Develop global communications strategy throughout all corporate touchpoints, both internal and external. This role will lead strategic communications and corporate affairs to manage our corporate reputation, stakeholder relationships, and external communications while driving strategic partnerships and government relations initiatives. This role will oversee thought leadership, crisis communications, strategic messaging, corporate partnerships, and public policy engagement strategic communications and affairs leader to manage our corporate reputation, stakeholder relationships, and external communications while driving strategic partnerships and government relations initiatives. Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee global communications strategy.
  • Develop communications planning strategy to ensure the brand achieves effective media coverage and visibility in all relevant channels
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business and product categories and represent company interests in industry coalitions and trade association policy committees.
  • Collaborate with select regional in-market teams to ensure consistency in execution of global communications strategy, coordination of new product launches and campaign initiatives.
  • Coordinate partnership announcements, co-marketing opportunities, and collaborative campaigns.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic corporate partnerships aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with social teams worldwide to develop synergy with timing of social campaigns and key influencer seeding and outreach.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive marketplace globally and positively position Belkin to consumer, business, industry and trade media worldwide.
  • Oversee the writing and editing of press releases, ensuring the development of story ideas aligned with corporate comms strategy.
  • Develop and present KPI measurement and analysis of Belkin press coverage and share-of-voice.
  • Develop an understanding of all elements of our business – product management, supply chain, product design, sell-in, in-store merchandising, engineering, etc. – to create long-term barriers-to-entry against competitors in a highly-competitive marketplace.
  • External agency partnership: manage agency on development of media tactics and ultimate execution of the campaign. Oversee PR agency activities and ensure a high level of efficacy. Work closely with external agency to drive press coverage and positive reviews as well as information gathering and data analysis efforts to drive program optimization and future enhancement of PR plans. Work towards near term goal of bringing PR efforts in-house and help to create an internal structure that supports this.
  • Have expert understanding of relevant industry and media trends.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree or sufficient proficiency in written and verbal communications skills.
  • 12+ plus years’ experience in a similar position, with at least 3 years’ experience managing a team.
  • B2B and/or B2C, agency, CPG or consumer electronics industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to expertly understand multiple technologies, across mobile power, wireless charging, screen protection to networking and IoT and smart home technology – and translate this deep understanding to varying consumer and business audiences
  • Strong, long-standing 1:1 media relationships; ability to quickly forge new media relationships via high emotional intelligence and storytelling
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with customers, vendors and investors.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and working with a small but incredibly agile team with tight budgets – scrappy, resourceful, a hard worker wanting to be a part of a growth mindset team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, motivate and manage agency partners. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work and influence.
  • Deep understanding of (earned) modern influencer landscape and how to incorporate into a traditional media outreach program
  •   Natural leadership skills. Must be able to work in a matrix environment, able to collaborate cross-functionally with an entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic teaming abilities
  •   Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, strong presentation skills
  • Act as a role model for others in line with Belkin values. Be proactive, results-oriented and a self-starter motivated by challenging tasks while maintaining a healthy work life balance and positive attitude
  •   Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and professional agility

  •   Must possess the right blend of confidence and humility
  •   Global PR experience, second language a plus.

Range for this position:

$130,000 - $160,000

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered.
