Job Details:

The Senior Supervisor HACCP will act as the primary SQF practitioner at the facility and coordinate the HACCP program. This role involves developing and maintaining compliance with plant programs such as HACCP, SSOP, process control, and CN. The position also includes supervising quality technicians and lab team members, serving as a technical resource on cross-functional plant teams, conducting tests, and collaborating on projects and process improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role involves investigating customer complaints, assisting in product trace activities using SAP, maintaining technical competency in plant computer programs and quality systems, resolving holds, customer complaints, and foreign material incidents, and innovating to improve the quality system's effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure food safety and personal safety within the plant.
  • Monitor production conditions, specifications, process controls, and tracking controls.
  • Train quality technicians to complete and monitor HACCP documentation in Plant.View or on paper as required.
  • Develop corrective actions for FSQA-related issues, determine root causes, and create preventive measures.
  • Record and analyze cook deviation trends to proactively solve problems and ensure compliance with weight programs, including CN weights.
  • Develop and monitor finished product evaluations based on customer or in-house requirements.
  • Provide cook temperature trend analysis and oven calibration results to the facility.
  • Investigate and resolve food safety holds, verify sanitation pre-operational inspections, and advise sanitation management of deficiencies.
  • Monitor and update quality-related procedures as necessary.
  • Organize and schedule weekly management meetings related to FSQA responsibilities.
  • Assist other quality management team members as needed and coordinate the timely completion of SQF requirements.
  • Collaborate with USDA to maintain compliance with federal regulations for labeling, sanitation, and operating procedures.
  • Work closely with Production, Customer Relations, Sales, and Warehousing to achieve quality, productivity, and yield goals.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry advancements, champion improvement projects, and complete special assignments.
  • Utilize department resources effectively, monitor direct reports' hours, and review budgeted line items monthly.
  • Develop direct reports for positions of increased responsibility.
  • Provide daily feedback to the leadership team on projects.
  • Coordinate micro corrective actions with operational and sanitation team members.
  • Respond to foreign material and cook temperature concerns.
  • Conduct HACCP record reviews and pre-shipment checks as needed.
  • Review holds, investigate, and provide dispositions.
  • Perform other daily functions as assigned.
  • Report on held products.
  • Review microbiological performance and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Conduct food safety meetings and participate in USDA meetings and SQF steering team.
  • Validate SQF-related tasks on schedule.
  • Perform other weekly functions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a related food manufacturing environment with a proven record of leading teams. HACCP certified, SQF/BRC accredited.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to quickly learn SAP and Plant.View.
  • Special Skills: Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday, 11 am-3 pm and 4 pm-6 pm.
