The Applications Developer is a senior technical expert who leads architectural decisions, complex system designs, and strategic planning for large-scale applications. Works closely with leadership to align technology with business objectives.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  

  • Must possess appropriate level of certifications for this position as required by the contract.  

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools, with the ability to work with complex data sets and generate meaningful reports. 

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), CI/CD, and DevOps practices. 

  • Strong communication, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Defines application architecture and technology roadmaps. 

  • Leads high-impact development projects and oversee technical teams. 

  • Ensures application security, scalability, and maintainability. 

  • Implements automated testing and continuous integration processes to enhance quality control. 

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex application issues and performance bottlenecks. 

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project and application documentation. 

  • Evaluates and implement new tools, frameworks, or platforms. 

  • Collaborates with project manager, architects, and DevOps on deployment strategies. 

  • Presents technical solutions to executives and stakeholders. 

  • Stays updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies. 

  • Provides technical direction and mentorship to junior developers. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of seven plus (7+) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
