MercerDescription:
Incident Management Analyst
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Control Advisory team at Mercer Super. This role can be based either in our Sydney or Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
At Mercer Super, we’re building a safer, smarter, stronger future — for our members, our colleagues, our business partners, and each other. In a world of constant change, risk and compliance are essential. They give us the confidence, control, and clarity to act — and to keep doing the right thing. With strong foundations in place, we’re focused on growing capability, lifting capacity, and creating a future-ready ecosystem where our colleagues feel supported to step up and speak up. We don’t settle for good enough — we ask what better looks like, every day.
If you’re driven by purpose and ready to make an impact, this is your moment.
You’ll join a team with momentum, humility, and a deep belief that better decisions start with great people.
We’re looking for those who care about doing what’s right — for our members, our business, and one another — and who want to help shape the next chapter of superannuation in Australia.
We will count on you to:
- Assist in the collection and analysis of incident data and trends across Mercer Super and related entities, providing insights to relevant forums and stakeholders.
- Support the incident management process via GRC, ensuring workflows are monitored, and appropriate policies and procedures are documented and followed.
- Verify breach reports submitted to regulators, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Conduct reviews of root cause analyses and remediation/action plans, offering guidance on best practices and necessary improvements.
- Develop and support training programs focused on breaches, incidents, issues, and near misses to enhance understanding of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework.
What you need to have:
- 1-3+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or incident management within the superannuation or financial services industries.
- A foundational understanding of superannuation business activities, products, and associated regulations, including APRA guidance and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends related to incidents, issues, and complaints.
What makes you stand out:
- Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline
- Experience in incident management, remediation, or business analyst roles preferably within the superannuation industry or financial services.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying incident management concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data analysis tools.
Why join our team:
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
