Job Description:
The Engine Component Specialist will assemble, rebuild, and refurbish a multitude of engine components. The Engine Component Specialist must be able to interpret engine manuals, torque specs and company policies and procedures. This position will be using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, etc. The Engine Component Specialist will take all quality control measures to ensure proper functionality of rebuilt components.
Essential Duties:
- Operates various pieces of shop equipment designed to revive engine components.
- Uses measuring instruments, such as gages, calipers or micrometers, to verify conformance of parts to specification, and adjust parts by trimming, shimming or cutting with shop equipment
- Maintains records and provides quality control documentation for all components rebuilt.
- Communicates with Shop lead on status of equipment and operating needs.
- Repairs, reworks or replaces any damaged parts or assemblies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Required:
- High school or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Vocational/Technical schools.
- Machinist degree, schooling, or certificates.
- Maintenance degree, certificates, or courses.
Experience:
Required:
- 1-2 years experience in a mechanic shop or equivalent.
- Experience rebuilding engines.
Preferred:
- Experience as a component rebuilder.
- Experience using measuring tools.
- Experience operating various shop tools; lathe, press, multi-directional sanding equipment.
- Honorably discharged service veterans.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- ASE engine related certifications, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Able to read and understand tolerances.
- Able to interpret factory manuals.
- Able to rebuild engines.
- Ability to work under stress in high pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail both verbally and written.
