Security Manager  

Full Time

$55-60,000/year 

Flexible to work any shift (Sundays + Mondays off)

Job Summary: 

 

The Security Manager leads the Security Operations team in totality. The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the training and readiness of the security team, development of security personnel including formal discipline, managing all day-to-day operations, perpetually patrolling the property and is expected to seek out opportunities to improve the guest experience and resolve challenges effectively and timely. Position is responsible for leading the team that patrols Summer Bay Resort property for the purpose of prevention, protection, early detection, or assistance of other agencies. The Security Manager is expected to work alongside the officers to model best practices and behaviors. The Security Manager is expected to set an example of excellence daily for his officers to follow.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Checking equipment (ex: uniforms, vehicles, radios, emergency medical, firefighting equipment, key, flashlights, etc.,
  • Ensuring team is in proper uniform and meet the company appearance expectations outlined in the Employee Policy Manual.
  • Security Manager is expected to hold Security team members accountable to the contents of the Employee Policy Manual in its applicable entirety.
  • Patrol of resort property for the purpose of prevention, protection, early detection, or assistance of other community services or agencies, monitoring and responding to radio communications, assisting guests as needed, recording the tour reports using the mobile device, addressing any suspicious activity immediately and responding to incidents promptly, utilize the “de-escalation” practice to help resolve disputes, and follow directions provided by Resort Management.
  • Maintaining and managing a working knowledge of all equipment assigned to positions
  • Proper preparation and submission of all Incident Reports according to standard operation procedures, including proper form use, timeliness, and proper documentation format
  • Receiving, storage and properly logging of evidence
  • Investigation assignments as necessary and assigned by Management
  • Checking, patrolling, touring, and securing the property during shift
  • Answering fire, gas or other alarms as needed or requested on property
  • Manning the Guard House. This includes monitoring radios, answering phones, directing callers to the proper extension, providing accurate driving directions, managing the access of guests, visitors, vendors, and employees, challenging pedestrian traffic to ensure proper clearance, key control, record keeping for the shift activities, and notifying when emergency agencies arrive and depart the resort.
  • Assuring all company polices and safety regulations are reported as observed
  • Responsible for special projects or assignments for various areas as assigned by Resort Management.
  • Obtaining or utilizing First Aid and related training for use within position and for utilization, when necessary, in the field according to company guidelines
  • Attending periodic scheduled refresher training
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area for guest and employees
  • Assuring compliance of all company policies as outlined for all employees
  • Other primary duties as needed or required by business demands
  • All other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School/GED graduate minimum
  • Active Class D License Required
  • General business office skills helpful
  • Have a current and valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Maintaining proficient and knowledge of Florida Criminal Code and Florida Criminal procedures
  • Must assist with minor maintenance problems as needed or available
  • Must assist with delivery of housekeeping items overnight when that department is closed.
  • May be required to handle special projects as assigned
  • Minimum two years' experience in Security Management, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or equivalent
  • Other secondary functions as necessary for the operation of the department and the company
