About The Job

Your job as a Plant Manager will be to demonstrate leadership as you lead all Plant personnel in continuous improvement journey to include culture, talent development, safety, quality, performance, cost, internal controls, customer service and innovation. You will ensure efficiencies within the facility via Sanofi Manufacturing Systems and TPM development, training and execution.

Additionally, you will enable development of plant personnel via training programs for both exempt and non-exempt employees, which will foster team concept understanding and participation in problem solving (GPS3).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops and fosters environment of employee safety, peer-to-peer coaching, zero safety defect mindset and injury elimination.

  • Ensures facility operates in compliance with “Current Good Manufacturing Practices” during day-to-day operations.

  • Must ensure all FDA regulated processes, procedures, and equipment are validated and that production is accomplished within FDA compliance.

  • Makes strategic and tactical staffing decisions within Plant 4 boundaries.

  • Prepares Plant budget, determines department operating expenses, and controls actual department costs.

  • Responsible for continuous profit improvement initiatives through improvements in labor/materials productivity, operating efficiencies and employee cost awareness through education and training.

  • Support new product and/or packaging development and implementation.

  • Serves as a member of Sanofi Chattanooga’s Operational Leadership Team.

  • Ensure deployment of Opella Production System (OPS) standards are in place and process confirmed.

 

Technical Competencies - GMP/Regulatory:

  • Verify all Plant activities are compliant with Regulatory (FDA, OSHA, EPA), Company and Site level expectations as managed through daily +QDCI ritual and other KPI governance.

  • Prepares or directs preparation of all departmental records and reports.

  • Establishes and maintains compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

  • Provides necessary training and supervision of personnel to correctly perform Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of operations including material flow, cleaning and sanitization of equipment, and internal control procedures.

  • Initiate/facilitate/complete cleaning validation and IQ/OQ/PQ requirements for all relevant equipment and systems on site. Including design, planning and implementation of validation documents and procedures.

  • Conduct packaging trials to support new product introduction and packaging development.

  • Budget/Profit Improvement: Prepares plant operating budget. Establishes specifications of expense items used to support production and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Approve expenditures submitted by direct/in-direct reports.

  • Ensures inventories and control of expensed purchased items including equipment maintenance, building/facility maintenance, and operating supplies.

  • Analyze budget reports for effective management of expenditure and allocation of resources.

  • Prepares and submits productivity and yield improvement plans/actions/results.

  • Identifies and implements Profit Improvement Projects and Capital Expenditure Requests.

  • Develops annual goals and objectives to improve strategic position of the company and personal development.

About You

  • Education: You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Management, Science, Engineering or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in supervision with increasing responsibility in regulated manufacturing or 10+ years of commensurate regulated manufacturing leadership experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience to include processing, packaging, technical, budgetary, validations and demonstrated cultural improvement in fast-paced regulated consumer goods manufacturing.

About The Job

Your job as a Packaging Technician for Opella Consumer Healthcare involves ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of diverse packaging machinery, from slat fillers to thermoformers and cappers. You'll be responsible for the equipment's set-up, cleaning, and maintenance, playing a vital part in our production process.

This is a 3rd shift position. Monday - Friday: 10:30pm – 6:30am  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Use tools to efficiently disassemble and reassemble machinery as needed.

  • Prepare packaging lines for various products, ensuring components and equipment are set up correctly.

  • Provide packaging supplies and bulk products as required to maintain smooth operations.

  • Monitor product quality and reject any materials or packages not meeting FDA-cGMP standards.

  • Document and maintain proper fill levels according to product specifications.

  • Operate packaging lines following Set-Up Sheets, SPIs (Standard Packaging Instructions), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and other procedures.

  • Ensure a safe work environment, report any hazards, and continuously develop your skills to comply with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.

About You

  • Education: You must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience: Experience in manufacturing, production, including operating high-speed packaging or assembly equipment, start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

  • Technical Competencies: You should be proficient in operating various packaging machinery and tools, including electric and manual lift trucks, tape machines, and equipment like fillers, cappers, labelers, and bundlers.

  • Physical Ability: You must be capable of lifting 25-60 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and demonstrating exceptional coordination, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude.

  • Special Requirements: You are required to comply with dress code regulations, be willing to undergo necessary training, and work in conditions with exposure to product, dust, grease, and packing machinery hazards.

  • Pre-employment Testing: You need to complete the required pre-employment testing.

  • Desired Qualifications: Additional qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma Certification, previous pharmaceutical experience, and familiarity with Production Automation Systems like SAP are desirable.
