MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director and Center staff/associates:
Assist with the organization of research projects, protocols, staff meetings, and other education or training activities
Prepare, maintain, and update the MCOA website material and social media presence for the Center
Develop data collection databases and assist in data entry and database maintenance
Assist in the collection, analysis, and summarization of research data and project results.
Recruit and interview subjects
Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor
Attend MCOA seminars and other MCOA meetings as necessary
Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency
Assist the MCOA investigators in preparing research articles, reports, and presentations
Assist Director and Fellows in organizing and marketing MCOA seminars and meetings
Serve in leadership position(s) for Student Chapter Gerontological Society of America (GSA)
Assist with participant recruitment at senior centers and local organizations
Assist the team with preparing and conducting health education sessions at community centers
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Complete the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) for Human Subjects Research Training (https://www.citiprogram.org/)
Be trained in Research Electronic Data capture (https://www.project-redcap.org/)
Attend project meetings
Work with the MU librarian in developing research literature searches
Request equipment or supplies necessary for the project
Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Currently enrolled in a Marymount graduate program.
Minimum qualifications:
Strong skills in time management, managing multiple projects, and attention to detail
Work well in a team.
Good oral/written communication skills to discuss, present, and document research progress.
Ability to work independently, accurately and to think critically to help solve methodological issues that might arise during the course of the research.
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canvas).
Preferred qualifications:
Familiar or will be trained to use SPSS or other data analysis programs
Experience with WordPress for Website management, Tableau
Students enrolled full-time are given preference over part-time.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
