We are now looking for a Data Architect who will lead the design and development of our solutions and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products.

In this role, you'll get to work with modern data technologies like Azure, Snowflake, Databricks and dbt. There are plenty of chances to grow your skills, whether it's through conferences, training programs, or certifications.


Your primary focus will be on the design of our data solutions as well as consulting various divisional stakeholders to build data models using data from various systems in Stora Enso.

You will help with the evolution of Stora Enso’s data strategy towards the Data Mesh and Lakehouse concept. You will also be responsible for organizing data community to spread best practice of data modelling and overall data literacy between Stora Enso’s users.

You will work in Ostrava (Czech Republic) in a hybrid mode, combining working from the office and from home. You will report to the Head of Data Availability.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust data architectures and solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities for data-driven value, and provide expert data modeling consultation

  • Prepare, review, and continually optimize data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to ensure scalability, performance, and alignment with business needs

  • Work closely with other architects (data, solution, enterprise, cloud) to design and deliver integrated, end-to-end data solutions

  • Set and enforce data quality, governance, and security standards to ensure solutions are reliable, compliant, and trustworthy

  • Mentor, guide, and provide consultation to data engineers, analysts, and junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development 

  • Create, maintain, and promote architectural documentation, best practices, guidelines, and training materials to drive consistency and excellence across the organization

  • Champion data-driven and AI-enabled transformation, advocating for innovative solutions and influencing organizational adoption of data best practices

  • Continuously assess and adopt emerging data technologies and methodologies to keep our data platforms future-ready and competitive


Skills and experience we expect you to have:

  • Extensive practical experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)

  • Deep understanding of data management concepts(data governance, data quality, metadata management, MDM)

  • Proven ability to capture business requirements and translate them into effective, scalable data solutions

  • Expertise in designing and optimizing data architectures for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML applications with sustainable practices at the core

  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and technologies (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT tools)

  • Excellent documentation skills for technical solutions, with a focus on clear, accessible and sustainable data models

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in English, with the ability to bridge technical and business teams

  • Consulting mindset and change management skills, able to champion best practices and drive adoption across the organization

  • Ability to coach, train, and mentor both technical and non-technical team members, fostering a data-driven culture

  • Strategic thinker with a focus on delivering measurable business value and enabling AI/data-driven initiatives

  • Adaptability and a continuous learning mindset to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving data and AI landscape
