About the Role:
Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant with a passion for numbers, procedures, and data-driven insights? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel under pressure?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has good analytical skills and is eager to grow further, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Is detail-oriented, with a solid understanding of financial processes and procedures, and is open to learning and improvement.
- Can handle tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Possesses problem-solving abilities and is driven to continuously improve processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Serve as a backup for the Payroll Officer.
- Prepare accurate and timely weekly/monthly reports, including monthly consolidated reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare data analysis to support decision-making and contribute to process and procedural improvements.
- Ensure internal controls are upheld and assist with any ad-hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Some experience in financial accounting, ideally in a fast-paced environment with room to grow.
- Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB EXO, MYOB AccountRight) and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Permanent Residency Status or Australian Citizenship required.
