Position: Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Location: Delaware and Maryland
Schedules: Full-time
Salary Range: $123,780 - 167,523 / year
Bonus: Monthly (based on volumes) & Quarterly (based on patient satisfaction and quality metrics)

Our practice model brings together board certified Physicians and Advanced Practitioners in innovative treatment centers, with the resources and support of ChristianaCare behind them. We are the front door to quality connected care. Schedules:
- Benefits eligible options include Full-Time, Full-time Flex (.95 - 3 days/week), or Part-Time options of .78, .63 or .5 FTE.

- We will be offering extended hours at several centers soon! *Shift availability to include Noon to Midnight and/or 8 a.m. to Midnight. (*Premium rates apply for specific schedules).

North Wilmington/Greenville area, Newark, Middletown, Dover in and around Delaware with two locations in Maryland (North East and Elkton). Job Summary
Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
Work Experience
- 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
- Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required
- Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Essential Functions
Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the job.
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
- Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
- All other duties as assigned
