  • 1x full time continuing opportunity for an experienced Strategy Advisor to join the University’s Strategic Planning team 

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across portfolios, faculties and other communities to support the development of strategic plans for the University 

  • Base Salary $146,197 - $154,260 + 17% superannuation   

About the opportunity 

We are in a period of exciting growth and development within our Strategy Portfolio, striving to achieve a high-impact and integrated service offering in line with the University’s strategy. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Strategy Advisor to join the Strategic Planning team. Working with the Senior Advisors and other subject matter experts, you will drive engagements in relation to university-wide strategic planning and transformation programs. 

Your keen interest in driving collaboration is key as you will be managing multiple workstream stakeholders, strategy work and communications to assist with strategic initiatives of the university. Your key responsibilities will be to: 

  • contribute to the design, structuring, and development of new strategies 

  • partner with multiple internal stakeholders (OGC, Finance, Research, Education, External Relations), ensuring effective communication, collaboration and alignment across the institution 

  • undertake quantitative and qualitative data analysis in relation to the university’s core activities 

  • work closely with Senior Advisors to support the reporting aspect of the area including preparing material for the University Executive, Senate and other decision-making bodies 

 

About you 

  • postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field and or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience 

  • extensive working experience as a strategy advisor (or similar) either within a large and complex organisation (government and higher education experience is desirable) or from a consulting background 

  • strong capability in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and structured problem solving 

  • proven experience in managing multiple work streams or working in large complex projects 

  • knowledge and experience in the analysis of the performance of business models, including operational and financial analysis

  • awareness of emerging and effective sector related trends, including the research and education policy and funding landscape and performance nationally and internationally, together with government objectives and priorities 

  • elevated relationship management skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in diverse internal and external environments 

  • flexibility in their organisation and planning skills to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast-paced environment 

  • outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills  

  • comfort in ambiguous settings and the ability to design tangible outcomes from strategic ideas and concepts.
