tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity   

Start your career with one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest companies and gain a NZ certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Diesel focus) and your class 5 Licence in our fully funded apprenticeship. You will work in a large manufacturing environment with a supportive team of technical trades professionals while earning a competitive salary.   

 

You will balance theory-based learning with practical hands-on training and work experience at one of our numerous sites across the country. Working on the maintenance and repair of some of our 480 milk tankers, focusing on fault finding, computer diagnostics and using cutting edge-technology and the latest tools and gear. Learning all things diesel from transmissions to pumps, planning, diagnostics, fault finding and preventative maintenance to keep our fleet moving.

Mōu | About you  
Our ideal applicant must meet the following criteria:  

  • Achieved or in the process of achieving NCEA Level 2 with Maths and English OR   
  • Achieved or in the process of achieving a relevant pre-trade certificate  
  • An interest and aptitude in hands-on engineering work  
  • A passion to qualify and build a career in your chosen field  
  • Restricted driver’s licence (by the time you start the apprenticeship in January 2026)  
  • Keen interest in solving problems, a curiosity to learn and being able to work in different situations with different people  
  • New Zealand citizen, Australian citizen, a Permanent Resident in Aotearoa New Zealand  
  • 16+ years old
