Communications & Public Affairs Specialist
Location: Zagreb, Ljubljana, Warsaw or Prague
Contract: full-time
Purpose:
Playing a central role as the voice of the business, the Communications Executive will contribute across internal, external and digital communications. Focusing on colleague engagement, they will embed our mission and strategy, communicating our purpose initiatives, disease awareness campaigns and breakthrough innovations that benefit the needs of surgeons and patients across the Central and Eastern Europe, Southern Africa and Türkiye. The candidate will develop and execute integrated communication programs in line with overarching strategies to guide precise communications across CEESAT region. Success in this position is achieved through the implementation of a proactive communication strategy, strong partnerships across the organisation and maintenance of a communication calendar to guide messaging and execution of activity. This position is constantly looking to improve communication flow through the solicitation of feedback and identification of process improvements or new communication vehicles to improve efficiencies and engagement. The successful candidate will bring outstanding copywriting ability, keen judgement on how audiences respond to content, and strong influencing capabilities. They will contribute to a broad communications agenda, with involvement in strategy setting, channel development and counselling teams on communications. Understanding digital media platforms, they will work with our Digital solutions leas on compelling content for social channels and web sites, with the ability to utilize analytics and platforms to shape future content.
A hands-on role, it will suit someone who’s looking to further their communications career in a diverse in-house role and someone who enjoys tactical delivery and getting involved in everything from media statements to employee videos.
As a member of the Johnson & Johnson team, you’ll have the opportunity to build deeper trust and advocacy with our key audiences, working on purpose-led campaigns, as part of an ethical, collaborative team.
You will be responsible for:
- Act as a storyteller, connecting internal and external audiences to Johnson & Johnson MedTech and business priorities, both externally and internally.
- Be a hands-on creator of communications, including email newsletters, talking points, case studies, intranet articles, Town Hall decks, press releases, and thought leadership articles.
- Support management of PR agency partnerships across key disease areas
- Craft copy for social media channels and web pages, drive day-to-day social community management and play an active role in furthering Johnson & Johnson MedTech external digital presence across the CEESAT region
- Build engagement through communications activities to embed Our Credo, agile ways of working, and diversity, equity and inclusion priorities.
- Analyze and measure the impact of internal and external communications, driving continuous improvement, while providing insights that drive confidence.
- Supports internal and external communications programs, including but not limited to writing, editing, preparing videos and photography, developing story ideas to promote selected activities, and special event coordination.
- The Specialist may independently manage portions of larger projects or selected smaller projects.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Degree in Business, English, Journalism or Communications preferred, plus a minimum of two years Communications experience, preferably in an agency or an in-house/industry role
- Clear, impactful communications skills – ability to identify story angles, seek out news, and package it in a meaningful way to drive interest, engagement and motivation.
- Understanding of how to use internal communications to drive employee engagement.
- Strong understanding of the media, and how to generate compelling content
- Understanding of design and email management tools and software
- Experience in social media content development and community management including analytics
- Ability to balance multiple priority assignments and to deliver against tight time constraints. Calm under pressure.
- Fluent English level is must, native in one of the local languages will be considered as benefit
