We are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer (Piping) to lead the mechanical discipline on a major EPCM lithium processing project in Germany.
This is a key leadership position responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of complex mechanical design work.
As the Principal Mechanical Engineer (Piping), you will be responsible for:
- Design Leadership: Supervise mechanical/piping design activities, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Discipline Integration: Collaborate across project teams to align mechanical design with construction and commissioning phases.
- Engineering Oversight: Review and approve mechanical design methods, layouts, material specifications, and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Problem Solving: Provide expert input on technically complex challenges and contribute to the development of project engineering policy.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Support technical interface with clients and assist in proposal/bid development.
You are an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer (Piping) with the following qualifications and background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Eligible to use the professional title of "Ingenieur" or "Ingenieurin" in Germany.
- At least 15 years of engineering experience within heavy industry environments.
- Significant experience in mechanical and piping systems in minerals or chemical processing plants.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and interface across disciplines.
- Experience with Plant piping design package, e.g. Plant3D, SmartPlant 3D
- Proficiency in MS Office, with added value from MS Access and MS Project experience.
