  • Permanent Full-Time 
  • Band 5 Salary commencing at $82,635.67 per annum plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
  • Provide support to facilitate, develop and deliver designated key Council Civic Events

The Opportunity 

This position supports the Head of Festivals and Events to facilitate, develop, and deliver designated key Council Civic Events, including Citizenship Ceremonies, Days of Significance for the municipality (e.g. ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day), and Civic Awards. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the team in all aspects of event planning, programming, producing and delivery 
  • Undertake the administration of Citizenship Ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs in accordance with the Citizenship Code.
  • Co-ordinate speaking notes, running sheets, presentations and comprehensive event packs for Councillors and dignitaries.
  • Collaborate and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including artists and performers, cultural networks, community groups and event industry contractors to support delivery of quality events
  • Oversee the annual Neighbourhood Spirit Awards nomination and assessment process.

Skills & Experience

  • A degree or diploma in Events Management, or a related discipline, or a lesser formal qualification with relevant work skills and experience.
  • Project management skills in coordinating civic activities and projects within set budgets, and goals and objectives.
  • Excellent administrative skills including excellent computer skills.

  1. Degree or Diploma in Event Management, or a related discipline, with some experience, or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and relevant experience. 
  2. Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of civic or government events including programming, production, risk management, logistics, schedules and agreements.
  3. Excellent administration skills including time management and maintaining up to date records, databases and program budgets.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team, gain cooperation and discuss and resolve problems. 
  5. Ability to manage relationships with a diverse group of community stakeholders for the successful delivery of events.
