ROLE PURPOSE: 
The position is responsible for driving SC vehicles in compliance with safe driving standards and assist in up running of vehicles.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
SCOPE OF ROLE: 
Reports to: Supply Chain and Admin Officer

Role Dimensions: Program and operation 
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 
1.    Handle transport of all staff, visitor and equipment/materials.
2.    Maintain vehicles including fuel, lubrication, oil, interior and exterior.
3.    Prepare Daily Vehicle Usage report, including trip use, mileage and fuel consumption. 
4.    Report and supervise all maintenance and repair needs of assign vehicle.
5.    Maintain a valid driving license, registration and valid permits at all the time. 
6.    Provide periodic usage report of vehicle including total mileage, fuel consumption and expenditure. 
7.    Follow and abide by the traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual and any other instructions      given by Driver Supervisor or management.
8.    Maintain vehicle first aid box, communication equipment and fire extinguisher and protect the vehicle while at outside office premises. 
9.    Prepare of monthly performance report for allocated vehicle. 
10.    Assist passengers in unloading and loading luggage
11.    Be very familiar with Kunar area to take safest and most direct route to destinations
12.    Perform duties during special occasions on requirement basis.
13.    Work after duty hours or on holidays as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS  
High School Graduated
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
•    Must maintain a valid driver’s license
•    3 Years Experience with NGO and great understanding of local communities and culture in Kunar
•    Preference will be given to Local Residents.
Desirable
•    Ability to drive skillfully, and under pressure
•    Understanding of Afghan driving rules and traffic laws/practices
•    Basic understanding of car mechanics
•    Spoken and written local language
•    Basic spoken/written English is helpful
•    Proficient in operating vehicles across rugged and mountainous terrain, specifically in challenging regions such as Kunar Province.
