Retail Assistant 

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Retail Assistant to join our dedicated team Social Enterprise team.

Location: Kilsyth 

Job Type: Maximum Term for 6 months, Part-Time working 22.8 hours per week

Salary: $54,315.35 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role

To generate funds in support of BSL Programs through recycling donations, and the participation of volunteers in a safe and welcoming environment. Also support all retail operations as directed by store manager.
  • Ensure high quality reputation through providing high quality, courteous and
  • Professional customer service, sales and merchandising;
  • Ensure customer requests are met in a professional and timely manner;
  • Ensure the store and back of house areas are clean and tidy at all times;
  • Ensure donations are sorted according to the Social Enterprises retail standards;
  • Assist with the display, sale and stock control of product including furniture, whitegoods and clothing

  • Previous retail experience in recycled goods is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment to achieve objectives.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise and work with volunteers, staff and people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Professional manner and high customer service focus.
