Description
The Fund Accountant will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions for several of the Firm’s fund structures, including one business development company (“BDC”). The Firm is a dynamic high growth organization, which currently includes 20+ closed-private investment funds across multiple domiciles and two BDCs. We are seeking a candidate to join our growing team with a proven ability to work collaboratively with groups across an organization and with outside service providers to direct appropriate information flow and effectively manage reporting deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare accounting support packages and coordinate with the 3rd party fund administrator for either BDCs and private funds, including operating expenses and account reconciliations
- Perform review of monthly/quarterly trial balances prepared by the 3rd party fund administrator and identify and resolve issues
- Review quarterly financial statements and investor capital statements and prepare key metric supporting schedules and analytics for certain private investment funds
- Coordinate the preparation and review of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K as well as any additional ad-hoc SEC reporting for one of Monroe’s BDCs
- Review disclosure support schedules prepared by the 3rd party fund administrator
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings release, quarterly conference call script and other various presentations to the Board of Directors
- Work closely with the loan operations team and understand the impact of loan transactions on financial reporting
- Support annual audit coordination and assistance in the preparation of audited financial statements
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly forecasts for the BDC
- Preparation of support schedules for tax reporting and compliance
- Continue to drive efficiencies through process improvements
- Ad-hoc internal and external reporting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field, CPA is a plus
- Public accounting experience is a plus
Ideal candidate background would include:
- Experience with fund accounting and financial reporting
- SEC reporting exposure with public investment vehicles
- Experience with private and/or retail funds
- Experience with fixed income products
- Experience working with Workiva or a similar financial reporting/filing tool
- Strong ability / knowledge of Microsoft Excel features
- Previous exposure to Wall Street Office bank loan system is a plus
- A detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys a dynamic, fast-pace work environment at a growing company
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation will also include a discretionary performance-based annual bonus. Note, the salary range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
- $80,000-$95,000
