We are seeking a motivated individual to join our OE Trailer Sales team as a Technical Sales Representative, based in Johannesburg.

What you could expect as a Technical Field Sales Representative:

  • Participate in development of go to market strategy to increase ZF technology installed by Trailer builders and deliver on sales targets (# EBS sold, conversion of ABS to EBS)
  • Establish, build and maintain relationship with Trailer builder to address their customer (current and new fleets). Including in surrounding sub Saharan countries
  • Consult and support trailer sales team with technical application knowledge
  • Drive intelligent trailer program features and functions penetration, incl. marketing ZF products, sales and value proposition
  • Provide external product training to trailer builder and its customers
  • Anticipation of market trends
  • Influence fleet specification of Trailer systems with ZF being a preferred supplier
  • Maintain and keep high technical knowledge of ZF CV product range
  • Upon customers request provide vehicle “health checks” to optimize trailer performance
  • Support customers in finding solutions for their technical issues
  • Participate in fleet events and promote ZF products and solutions
  • Cooperate with aftermarket field sales as appropriate

 

What we expect from you as a Technical Field Sales Representative:

  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or a related technical field)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive sector
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and customer-first approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Results-oriented with a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Flexible and adaptable in working hours and travel schedules
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional settings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general digital tools
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as needed
