What can I expect from the programme?
Our Graduate programme will give you an experience like no other working within our dynamic Infrastructure Services and Digital Workplace (ISDW) team. Responsible for the delivery of services that form the foundation of all Technology offerings for Westpac NZ – as well as the essential tools and platforms relied upon by every Westpac NZ user for daily productivity and business applications – the ISDW team plays a crucial role in enabling seamless operations across the organisation. With a focus on reliability, scalability, and innovation, the ISDW team ensures that core infrastructure and user-facing services are always available, secure, and evolving to meet the needs of a dynamic business environment.
Our current programme is based in Auckland and will run for approximately 10-12 months. You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February 2026 on an immersive orientation which will help grow your understanding of Westpac NZ along with the wider grad cohort. At the end of your programme, you’ll be supported to find a suitable role that matches your capabilities and interests within your business area.
Throughout the programme:
Infrastructure Services and Digital Workplace (ISDW) Champions, leaders and mentors will support you during the programme experience. The programme is structured to help you identify your focus areas whilst tailored training sessions build and strengthen your technical and soft skills - accelerating your personal and professional career development. Expect to be able to give back by joining numerous communities, volunteering and sustainability initiatives rounding out your whole work life experience.
The day to day:
Proactively maintaining and enhancing the core technology services that underpin Westpac NZ’s digital operations – ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across platforms used every day by our people.
Equipping the business with the tools, platforms, and support they need to work productively and securely, backed by technical expertise and a strong service mindset.
Delivering and evolving technical components, patterns, and reusable solutions – from identity and access management to collaboration tools and automation frameworks – that help teams move faster and more effectively.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be eligible, you must be in your final year of study or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past 12 months. Our Graduate opportunities are entry level roles giving those on the programme broad exposure across the relevant business unit. Additionally, applicants must be New Zealand or Australian citizens or permanent residents.
We’re looking to grow our team with original thinkers, service-minded innovators, and strong collaborators. Ideal candidates will have a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
