What can I expect from the programme?
Our Graduate programme will give you an experience like no other working within our dynamic Digital team. You will gain exposure to working within the Consumer Banking and Wealth division with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people right across our enterprise. We are offering a permanent graduate position on a tailored programme which has been designed with future leaders in mind.
Our current programme is based in Auckland and will run for approximately 10-12 months. You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February 2026 on an immersive orientation which will help grow your understanding Westpac NZ along with the wider grad cohort. At the end of your programme, you’ll be supported to find a suitable role that matches your capabilities and interests within your business area.
Throughout the programme:
Digital Champions, leaders and mentors will support you during the programme experience. The programme is structured to help you identify your focus areas whilst tailored training sessions build and strengthen your technical and soft skills - accelerating your personal and professional career development. Expect to be able to give back by joining numerous communities, volunteering and sustainability initiatives rounding out your whole work life experience.
The day to day:
Our Digital team leads our Westpac NZ digital strategy. They own our digital channels and drive digitisation of customer experiences for Consumer and Business through apps and websites
You will work to support customer and business outcomes across the above channels alongside our people including Digital Channel Managers, Digital Channel Analysts and Digital Adoption Specialists
There is strong relationship between Digital and our partners in Technology, Transformation, Product and Marketing so expect insights into these functions as well
You will receive a buddy to support you and a mentor who will provide you coaching and help you take charge of your development and career planning to help navigate life at Westpac

Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be eligible, you must be in your final year of study or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past 12 months. Our Graduate opportunities are entry level roles giving those on the programme broad exposure across the relevant business unit. Additionally, applicants must be New Zealand or Australian citizens or permanent residents.
We are looking to fill our program with original thinkers, innovators, and team players who are highly collaborative. You will have a Computer Science degree or equivalent, examples of relevant technology experience during your study and the ability to recognise areas of opportunity, to adapt, innovate and to drive productivity.
You will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), be super curious, be customer-centric and be resilient, with high levels of personal integrity, professionalism, and drive.
