About the opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, Westgold Resources are on the lookout for a Purchasing Officer to join our Procurement team based in Maddington on a full-time permanent term basis.

Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Officer will engage with internal/ external stakeholders to provide expertise that support strategic business objectives. This customer-focused position requires strong communication skills to effectively manage supplier relationships, oversee direct charge and inventory purchasing, address overdue orders, and coordinate rotable and repairable item management.

The role includes

Performing purchasing activities that ensure provision of goods and services are delivered with the right quality, quantity and in the right place and time
Implement direct Charge Purchasing
Maintain optimal inventory purchasing
Service Purchase Order conversion
Coordinate Critical inventory re-order and deliveries to ensure 0 stock outs
Negotiate purchasing transactions
Process credit return of goods
Conduct customer service meetings
Expedite pre-delivery order to ensure on time deliveries

What do I need?

Demonstrated 3 years experience with a purchase order driven accounting or purchasing system (Pronto desirable)
Exposure to mining preferred (gold mining advantageous)
Skills of effective negotiation
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen
National Police Clearance (issued within 12 months)
