The prospective candidate will work with our other team members to support the collection, analysis, and management of data relevant for traceability, mapping, certification, client reporting, and compliance. This position fulfills a range of needs related to the monitoring of geographic information systems (GIS) data, supporting cross-pillar programs, reporting to clients and for compliance purposes, and training field teams on the relevant tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mapping Analysis & Mapping data dashboard update
- Ensure accuracy of all mapping data and maintain overviews of mapping progress, identifying gaps and coordinating with partners to reach full mapping of the supply chain.
- Oversee GPS mapping within the assigned cooperative, including the transfer of shapefiles to the central database and the analysis of polygon data using GIS software
- Cleaning of GIS data, maintenance of records
- Provide feedback to the M&E Coordinator for program revisions and adjustments based on monitoring or evaluation findings
Program Data Cleaning and Analysis
- Supporting cross-pillar program teams on M&E related tasks such as regular data cleaning of community survey data; monitoring of coaching activities or trees distribution, etc.
- Data analysis to support program activities e.g. to identify cases for remediation and follow up
Training and support on data collection and digital tools
- Plan/support training on the use of a web and Mobile App for all groups including partners.
- Implement data quality control protocols
- Supervise the ongoing collection of (digital) data on training participation, and organize training attendance records to enable correlation with adopted practices
- Coordinate/support survey field trials.
- Attend to technical issues with the use of a web and Mobile App.
- Create new user accounts, perform access restrictions/permissions of users to groups/communities and regularly monitor survey responses on web platform.
Survey Creation and Data Management
- Create surveys in web and mobile tool and update databases
- Support internal tracking of project KPIs
- Coordinate within and across teams, in Côte d'Ivoire and at HQ
- Follow up on data collection and reporting.
- Create and monitor overviews and reporting templates
- Create, support and monitor on Farmers and Mapping databases
- Ensure master files are updated and accurate to be communicated with different verticals
- Management and quality control of all relevant incoming data e.g. GPS, traceability, farmer trainings, farmer registrations, inspections, profiling, and digital financial services
- Maintain continuous communication with cooperative staff on the digitisation of certification and GPS data, traceability recordkeeping, data quality issues, and field data-related matters
EUDR Compliance Support
- Engage suppliers in risk assessment and due diligence activities
- Conduct analysis of questionnaire responses, conduct follow-up on gaps identified
- Site visits to ensure traceability processes are in line with requirements
- Support on traceability data management to ensure the full compliance with EUDR requirements
- Liaise with HQ on compliant EUDR farmers and share with cooperatives the traceability compliant database to be monitored during the sourcing season
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare datasets and reports for external submission
- Maintain client databases
- Support teams with internal insights
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Data Sciences, Project Management, Agricultural Economics or related field
- At least 4 years hands-on experience in data management
- Knowledge and experience related to the cocoa sector preferred
- Knowledge of Rainforest Alliance certification is an added advantage
- Training, coaching and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with digital data collection and management
- Knowledge of GIS tools such as QGIS preferred, or proven ability to quickly learn and work with a new digital platform or tool
- Excellent command of English and French (B2/C1).
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability & interest to work with farmers in cocoa growing communities.
- Basic knowledge and skills in general agriculture especially cocoa farm management/agroforestry is an advantage.
