Markato is a wholesale B2B marketplace and digital distributor connecting retailers in APAC with high potential brands from around the world. We provide retailers and brands access to new retail opportunities in Asia as well as seamless online and offline infrastructure to thrive in the modern world.
In April 2023, Markato closed a seed round led by Lightspeed. Since then, the company has assembled a founding team comprised of early employees at Deliveroo, Uber and Grab who led the launch and expansion of those marketplace startups across Asia over the past decade. We are currently operating in 4 markets and expanding our team to drive our continued growth trajectory.

This role requires bilingual proficiency in Cantonese and English, and is on-site based in Hong Kong.

What you will be doing
- Order Operations: Facilitate seamless collaboration between sellers and couriers to promptly address order-related issues, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain effective communication with buyers throughout the process.
- Logistics Operations Management: Support logistics operations, including scheduling and monitoring shipments, ensuring delivery efficiency, an conduct logistics pricing analysis.
- Warehousing and fulfillment: Ensure the effective operations of Markato's in-house warehousing and fulfillment capabilities, including coordination with expernal providers, and supporting the continuous improvement of related processes.
- Customer Experience Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and enhance the experience of buyers and sellers on the platform, specifically related to order fulfillment and issue resolution.
- Feedback Analysis: Systematically gather and analyze feedback from customers and operational activities to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in service delivery.
- Process Improvement: Implement approved enhancements and solutions to streamline processes, thereby improving the overall customer experience.
- Data Management: Ensure the maintenance of accurate records pertaining to customer interactions, order statuses, and logistics performance metrics.
- Collaboration: Engage closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and product teams, to ensure cohesive support for operational initiatives.
What we are looking for
- 1-2 years experience: In an operational role/ management trainee role/ analytics role, preferably at a high growth startup, logistics, wholesale or retail industry
- Demonstrated Grit: Possess a strong work ethic and resilience, with the ability to tackle challenging, detail oriented tasks with a positive attitude.
- Diligence in Execution: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to executing daily tasks effectively and efficiently, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and respond swiftly to unexpected challenges, demonstrating resourcefulness in developing creative and effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing priorities and demands while maintaining focus on operational goals.
- Strong Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including buyers, sellers, couriers, and team members, fostering collaboration and clarity.
- Analytical Thinking: Possess strong analytical skills to assess situations, identify issues, and implement improvements based on data and feedback.

- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms relevant to logistics and operations management.
