Senior Security Consultant - Contract to Hire

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Security Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and expertise in managing and implementing firewalls, load balancers, and specifically F5 products. This role involves assessing and improving our network and security infrastructure to ensure robust security against cyber threats. Freelancers can apply. 

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose enhancements.
• Implement, configure, and maintain firewall solutions to protect networked systems.
• Manage and optimize load balancers to ensure efficient traffic distribution and high availability.
• Specialize in F5 products, including BigIP, ASM, APM, and LTM, ensuring optimal deployment and configuration.
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Collaborate with the IT team to integrate security practices into the network infrastructure.
• Provide training and guidance to the IT team on best security practices and new technologies.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and mitigation techniques.
• Prepare and present reports on security posture and incident responses.
• Offer remote troubleshooting and on call support for critical issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Security Consultant or similar role.
• Expert knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Deep understanding of load balancing techniques and technologies, with a focus on F5 products.
• Relevant certifications in IT security (e.g., CCIE, CISA, CCNP Security) and F5 (e.g., F5CTS, F5CA) are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
