What you can expect as a Senior Accountant at West Star Aviation:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated an organized individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities.

 

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Research and analysis to identify bottlenecks in inventory processes and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in reconciliation of inventory transactions between ERP and accounting systems, improving audit readiness.
  • Working knowledge of percentage of completion accounting transactions.
  • Utilize ERP and analytics tools to optimize labor tracking and improve efficiency in internal inventory initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Manage intercompany eliminations.
  • Assist in monthly work in process entries.
  • Verify that revenue recognition is properly applied each time monthly accruals for work in process are recorded.
  • Accurately record and reconcile lease liabilities and right-of-use assets in compliance with ASC 842.
  • Ensure that all property tax payments and accruals are properly reconciled and validated, along with timely and accurate property tax filings.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Qualifications

What you’ll need to bring with you:

 

Your Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.

A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

 

Your Experience:

Three to five years of accounting experience required.

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Excellent research and analytical skills.

Highly proficient with accounting software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Knowledge of Corridor and Great Plains Dynamics preferred.

Your Sense of Responsibility:

Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.

Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.

Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

Perform all work in accordance with all regulatory guidelines.

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.

 

 

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry 15 pounds.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.

 

Mental Requirements:

Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.

Coordinate projects.

 

Working Conditions:

Work will be accomplished in an office environment.
