Plymouth Rock Assurance is looking for a Contents Adjuster who will be responsible for evaluating, pricing and settling losses involving personal property for all homeowner claimsThis may include handling losses due to water, theft, vandalism and fire. You will be part of a fast-moving team and will be expected to enhance our process and culture with your insight and experience.   

 

Territory: Northern, PA (Allentown) 

  

Responsibilities:   

  • Reviews and applies accurate policy coverages
  • Inspect/scope property onsite to determine salvageable/vs non-salvageable, and if cost effect to clean/restore
  • Reviews restoration and dry cleaning bills
  • Contents desk adjuster acts as point of contact for all questions and tasks related to contents for the assigned claim file.  
  • Proactive approach to your daily tasks 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, providing a high level of service while setting proper expectations for our customers  
  • Responsible for coordination of the entire claim where the only claimed damages are contents
  • In instances where a list has been created or received by other Plymouth Rock adjusters, contents desk adjuster will assist in the RCV/ACV determination of the list
  • Reviews the valuation of the inventory list, determining both the Replacement cost and Actual cost values and ensuring the accuracy and appropriate depreciation
  • Applies appropriate coverage limits and settles contents portion of the claim with the policyholder  
  • Responsible for processing holdback receipts upon submission

Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • At least a half year of homeowners Claims experience 
  • Ability to obtain licensure in applicable states and complete CE credit/classes where necessary  
  • Comprehensive understanding of State specific claims handling compliance regulations as well as property homeowner policy and claims process  
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software  
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with policyholders, outside vendors and ensure that results are meeting our standards and objectives.  
  • Must possess excellent writing skills 
  • Strong internet skills along with research of unusual items
  • Team oriented
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently 
  • Valid Driver’s License and proficient driving record
