SUMMARY
iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.
We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Director of Firmware & OS in Logan, Utah.
ROLE COMMITMENTS

Establish and Execute a Scalable Firmware & OS Strategy:
Develop and gain alignment on a long-term architecture and platform strategy that supports iFIT’s connected device roadmap, ensuring consistency, scalability, and security across all product lines. -
Accelerate Product Delivery with High-Quality Firmware Releases:
Lead the on-time development and release of firmware and OS components for at least two major product launches, with a focus on performance, reliability, and power optimization. -
Build and Scale a High-Performing Embedded Systems Team:
Hire, mentor, and develop a world-class firmware and OS team, implementing performance management practices and fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and accountability. -
Improve System Performance and Update Infrastructure:
Oversee the implementation of a secure and reliable OTA (over-the-air) update system, optimize boot time and memory management, and introduce key metrics for system performance monitoring. -
Strengthen Cross-Functional Technical Alignment:
Act as a trusted technical partner to Product, Hardware, QA, and Software teams—driving shared priorities, resolving blockers, and ensuring firmware/OS development is deeply integrated into the product lifecycle.
Education and Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

10+ years of embedded systems development experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.

Deep experience with embedded Linux and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr), including board bring-up.

Strong understanding of ARM-based architectures, device drivers, bootloaders, and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, Wi-Fi, etc.).

Proven track record of managing firmware for high-volume consumer electronics or IoT devices.

Experience with firmware development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.).
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with multimedia and sensor integration (e.g., cameras, displays, IMUs).

Background in fitness, wearable, or connected device industries.

Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and secure firmware development.
