Systems Administrator

iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their individual fitness journey.

We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Systems Administrator working remotely, in the United States.

 

ROLE COMMITMENTS

• Contribute to successful implementation and ongoing support of virtual desktop environments. Participate in deployment and support efforts for Azure Virtual Desktop and AWS Workspaces, helping ensure smooth operation and user experience.
• Improve visibility and responsiveness of infrastructure systems. Assist in implementing and refining system monitoring tools and processes to ensure reliable alerts and proactive resolution of issues.
• Support infrastructure standardization and modernization efforts. Help evaluate and roll out consistent infrastructure components (e.g., UPS, hypervisors, storage) across remote and on-prem facilities.
• Enhance documentation and operational readiness for core systems. Work with the team to ensure that runbooks, asset inventories, and recovery procedures are updated and usable by the end of FY25/26.
• Participate in improving system availability, security, and performance. Collaborate on projects that reduce downtime, address security gaps, and improve baseline system performance across the environment.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation efforts using Ansible. Assist in developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks to streamline system configuration, patching, and routine administrative tasks.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud & On-Premises Architecture & Infrastructure Management:

• Manage a secure, scalable, and reliable hybrid infrastructure using services such as AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, Alicloud ECS, and on-premises virtualization technologies like VMware.
• Support on-premises server and storage infrastructure, including data centers and SAN/NAS environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Help to optimize resource utilization and costs across cloud and on-prem environments by implementing effective monitoring and automation strategies.

Linux System Administration:

• Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues related to hardware, software, and network components.
• Maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for critical systems across cloud and on-premises.

Automation & Scripting:

• Develop Ansible runbooks and other automation methods to streamline system administration and infrastructure management tasks across multi-cloud and on-prem environments.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with relevant iFit standards and best practices across all environments.
• Work with the security team for regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential risks in both on-prem and cloud environments.

 

Qualifications

 

• Education and Basic Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration
  • 3+ years of experience in hybrid cloud architecture and administration across multiple cloud platforms and on-premises environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, Alicloud ECS) and on-premises virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Open to 10% travel as needed

  • Multi-cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Alicloud Professional).
  • Network troubleshooting experience

  • Advanced Linux certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
