POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety and Security Lead plays a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and productive environment in a high-volume Distribution Center that fulfills merchandise to 81 countries globally. This role supports all safety and physical security functions on the assigned shift while actively promoting a strong safety culture. Working independently during the weekend evening shift, this person must show strong initiative, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

Role & Responsibilities:
Safety Duties
- Respond promptly to unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses, property damage, incidents, and injuries
- Conduct regular floor safety observations and provide positive reinforcement or real-time coaching
- Track and update site safety data for reporting and KPIs
- Maintain safety communication boards and site incentive programs (Real Rewards/Eagle Bucks)
- Support fire prevention program coordination and emergency action plan execution (drills or actual events)
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections
- Participate and assist in guiding accident investigations
Security Duties
- Monitor security desk operations, CCTV, fire and burglary alarms, and parking lot activity
- Oversee contract security officers during the shift
- Maintain accurate incident reports and escalate suspicious activity appropriately
- Manage inbound/outbound trailer monitoring and ensure security seals and procedures are followed
- Administer the site’s parking program, vehicle registrations, and visitor sign-in process
- Issue and deactivate access cards; manage badge supplies
- Maintain control of campus keys and assist in updates to the security manual
Collaboration & Culture
- Work closely with a department co-worker to support training and development initiatives
- Promote a positive and safety-focused culture among employees
- Take initiative to identify areas of opportunity and make improvements proactively
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Safety and/or security experience strongly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and documentation habits
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
- Experience with Vector EHS, AccessIT, and Ava Video Camera monitoring system is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence at all levels
- Preferred Certifications: OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid
