Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Materials Systems Specialist with hands-on experience in AVEVA ERM to support the planning, control, and optimization of materials across engineering and construction projects. This role bridges engineering, procurement, and construction functions by ensuring accurate material data, seamless system integration, and efficient processes throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert in AVEVA ERM, with proven expertise in leading the implementation and management of engineering materials systems. This is a Hybrid work schedule.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for AVEVA ERM within the engineering and assigned materials management teams.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure material availability aligns with project schedules and specifications.
Provide global training (virtual and in-person) on AVEVA ERM usage, workflows, and best practices.
Support the integration of AVEVA ERM with other systems (e.g., AVEVA E3D).
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, acting as the primary liaison between users and software support teams.
Review vendor documentation, valve drawings, and isometrics to ensure alignment with material specifications and design data.
Develop and enhance work processes for material take-offs, requisitioning, and inventory control.
Support proposal development by providing accurate work-hour estimates and material control plans.
Mentor and supervise junior material control personnel, supporting their career development and performance reviews.
Participate in audits, data validation, and quality assurance activities related to material systems.
Coordinate with procurement and quality team to evaluate and create solutions to complex quality issues or vendor queries.
High School Diploma and 10 years of experience Materials Control Systems (B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering preferred).
7+ years of practical knowledge and experience of all aspects of one or more fields of engineering materials and their associated engineering processes.
Excellent understanding of material control science and the mechanics of engineering materials.
Must have a high level of proficiency with AVEVA ERM.
Strong knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project lifecycles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong teamwork, communication, documentation, and time management skills.
