Job Summary

  • Financial Aid Coordinator
  • Supervise, evaluate, and train financial aid staff
  • Coordinate financial aid programs including PELL, TN Promise, TN Reconnect, TELS, etc.
  • Inspect student aid files to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Review verification process and resolution of conflicting information
  • Process Return of Title IV & Reconciliation of financial aid accounts
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to determine continued financial aid eligibility
  • Compile and complete financial aid reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain compliance in all aspects of federal and state regulations
  • Attend federal and state workshops and conferences
  • Assign tasks to financial aid staff

Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in accounting, business, or finance
  • Four (4) years of administrative responsibility including supervision of staff
  • Knowledge of Department of Education federal/state financial aid rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs including PELL, TSAA, SEOG, TN Lottery Scholarship
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Evidence of ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in computerized accounting systems and software programs
  • Experience working in a higher education environment a plus

Preferred Qualifications
