Job Summary
- Financial Aid Coordinator
- Supervise, evaluate, and train financial aid staff
- Coordinate financial aid programs including PELL, TN Promise, TN Reconnect, TELS, etc.
- Inspect student aid files to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Review verification process and resolution of conflicting information
- Process Return of Title IV & Reconciliation of financial aid accounts
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to determine continued financial aid eligibility
- Compile and complete financial aid reports in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance in all aspects of federal and state regulations
- Attend federal and state workshops and conferences
- Assign tasks to financial aid staff
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in accounting, business, or finance
- Four (4) years of administrative responsibility including supervision of staff
- Knowledge of Department of Education federal/state financial aid rules and regulations
- Knowledge of financial aid programs including PELL, TSAA, SEOG, TN Lottery Scholarship
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
- Evidence of ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in computerized accounting systems and software programs
- Experience working in a higher education environment a plus
