Mammographer/CT Technologist - Per Diem

JOB SUMMARY

Performs high-quality mammography, diagnostic X-ray, and CT exams in accordance with ACR standards and MQSA requirements. Ensures patient safety and comfort while delivering optimal diagnostic images. Maintains quality control (QC) procedures and all documentation required for ACR accreditation and MQSA compliance. Candidates must demonstrate competency across all three modalities and provide flexible coverage as needed to support the imaging department.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Perform mammography examinations; obtain patient history, answers patient questions and explains the procedure. Performs all Mammographic Quality Control Tests. Documents the information and informs the appropriate person when the tests are out of  acceptable limits.
2. Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with MQSA accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct.
3. Operates equipment efficiently; contacts the appropriate person when equipment malfunctions. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis.
4. Performs basic Radiographic exams, i.e. chest and extremity radiographs and CT exams as needed.
5. Tracks patients results, mails out letters of reminder, results letters and follow up as required for the patient results.
6. Participates in various activities to market and/or capture new patients, which may include site visits, follow up calls or data collection.
7. Works with the Radiology Manager and others as part of a team to improve and expand the Hospital's Mammography program.

Hours:  Per Diem

Salary:  Base salary of $38.16 – $47.70 per hour based on experience.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mammography and CT
• Prior experience in general diagnostic radiography

Education

• BS or AAS in Radiologic Technology or Equivalent

Certifications/skills

• ARRT certifications in:

        - Radiography (R) 

        - Mammography (M)

        - Computed Tomography (CT) 

• Must maintain current BLS certification
