About the role 

  • This is an On-Site position based on the island of O‘ahu, supporting a state hospital located in Kaneohe, Hawai‘i. The work schedule is 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday and candidates must be available to report on-site. 
  • To be considered for this role, applicants must currently reside on O‘ahu and be able to commute to the Kaneohe location upon request.  
  • IT Help Desk Technician provides technical support and assistance to users experiencing computer-related issues.  
  • They are often the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, and their goal is to resolve issues and ensure user satisfaction.  

What you'll do 

  • Review and categorize tickets daily, routing them to the appropriate IT group, and managing the ticketing system to address, resolve, or escalate issues as needed.   
  • Answer the Helpdesk calls to gather staff information, including name, phone number, location and computer serial number or computer name.  
  • Add computers to the ticketing system, deploy them, and assign or reassign them to users as required.  
  • Manage user assignments to hardware devices and assets within the ticketing system.  
  • Assist users with backing up files to OneDrive, especially those not automatically synced, such as desktop files.  
  • Perform OS updates and install new software and updated applications regularly.   
  • Regularly install and update OS features and other application components.   

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years proven working experience in providing help desk support.  
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently.  
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical expertise.  
  • Ability to accurately document support requests and solutions.  
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
