Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support & Patient Care

• Assist RNs with basic patient care tasks
• Participate in patient hygiene, comfort, and safety activities
• Accurately take and record vital signs and report findings

Safety & Infection Control

• Follow all infection prevention protocols
• Ensure clean and safe patient environments
• Identify and report safety concerns

Communication & Collaboration

• Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Participate in team huddles and interdisciplinary discussions
• Use appropriate channels to escalate patient concerns

Operational & Technical Skills

• Learn and utilize hospital systems such as EPIC, call systems, and alarm protocols
• Assist with documentation, data entry, and electronic health record (EHR) updates
• Support clinical workflow with effective time and task management

Education & Experience:

• Currently enrolled in the Ivy Tech Community College School of Nursing (Evansville, IN campus)
• Must have successfully completed at least one semester of clinical rotations
• Completion of Student Nurse Apprentice orientation required

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Health Care Provider Certification (Required)
