This full-time position is best suited for someone who enjoys client interaction, patient care, and multi-tasking across departments.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with triage intake and patient history gathering
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of all temperaments for exams and diagnostics
- Assist with outpatient treatments such as administering medications, SQ fluids, and routine blood draws
- Support specialty services with appointment preparation, patient handoffs, and follow-up care
- Provide discharge instructions and educate clients on at-home care, medications, and follow-up
- Perform basic diagnostics (e.g., bloodwork prep, fecal/urinalysis sample collection, radiology support)
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized outpatient exam rooms and treatment areas
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records and communication with doctors
- Partner with doctors, technicians, and CSRs to ensure smooth appointment flow and excellent client service
🎯 Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a veterinary setting (general practice, ER, or specialty preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- LVMT preferred but not required; assistants with strong technical skills and growth mindset welcome
- Comfortable in a client-facing role, with excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of restraint, patient handling, and outpatient care protocols
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Experience with veterinary software and EMR systems (e.g., eVet, Avimark, or similar) is a plus
