1. Evaluates sales records, check inventory levels for equipment and supplies
- Takes inventories.
- Checks for outdated supplies.
- Coordinates ordering of all routine and non-routine supplies from departmental requisitions.
2. Reviews variations in the market that may impact the supply or cost of supplies and identifies suppliers that may provide supplies at a low cost for the hospital and its entities.
- Evaluates buying groups, vendors, equipment, and suppliers as to quality, price, and availability.
- Monitors all supplies and equipment received to determine quality and promptness of delivery.
- Processes purchase orders on special orders, capital expenditures, equipment purchases, and new service setup.
- Acts as a contact for problem solving between SMC and vendors.
- Administers approval, purchasing, receiving, storage/inventory control and distribution of products processes.
- Assists with supply negotiations, performing and monitoring price competitiveness analysis, performing purchases analysis.
- Reviews resources with both our primary GPO as well as independent vendors.
- Delivers superior customer service to support the goals and objectives of Shenandoah Medical Center.
3. Receive and store materials, supplies and equipment.
- Unpacks shipments received inspecting for damages or defects.
- Verifies accuracy of shipments and moves to appropriate storage area assuring orders are closed out when appropriate.
- Fills supply requisitions from stock and deliver to department.
- Cleans storeroom.
- Prepares requisitions and assists with various purchasing functions as needed.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
