Summary/Objective

Responsible for and manages the local customer assistance team. Coaches and directs the
administrative assistants and account coordinators. Works closely with financial team in assuring timely
collections on all accounts. Assures customers’ expectations are met and addresses any issues or
concerns. Liaison between Operations Manager, Local ILA clerks and customer service team.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises account coordinator and administrative assistants.
  • Updates and maintains port tracking system.
  • Maintains inventory of all ship lines.
  • Assists in communicating with operations in all daily tasks.
  • Data entry of cargo processed in port tracking.
  • Customers' contact for issue resolutions.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports.

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.

Travel

Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Computer Operations

Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Required experience with NetSuite and E-tracking.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Card).
