Job Description
Responsible for delivering data-driven insights and analytic solutions that support population health and value-based care initiatives. Oversees staff, budget, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize data infrastructure, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver timely and actionable reporting. Serves as a subject matter expert in clinical and operational data analytics, driving innovation through automation, standardization, and strategic data utilization to improve clinical outcomes and performance on quality measures. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Sr. Director, Clinical Population Health Analytics. Primary Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed. • Direct and supervise a team of analysts and developers focused on data ingestion, integration, analytics, and reporting for population health programs. • Foster professional growth among staff in areas such as relational databases (SQL, SSRS/SSIS), requirements gathering (BRDs, FRDs), functional and regression testing, data visualization, and soft skills including communication and time management. • Drive operational efficiencies by identifying and eliminating manual, redundant, or error-prone processes through automation and process redesign. • Develop and maintain a centralized clinical data repository to enable comprehensive analytics and advanced reporting capabilities. • Lead the design and implementation of automated, scalable dashboards and reports that provide timely and meaningful insights to clinical, quality, and operational stakeholders. • Expand the utilization of internal and external data sources to support risk stratification, care coordination, and performance improvement initiatives.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Oversee automation of data file jobs, email notifications, SLA monitoring, and exception reporting. • Collaborate with compliance and quality teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and payerspecific regulatory and audit standards. • Establish rigorous control processes and validation protocols to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all reporting and analytics functions. • Translate clinical and regulatory business requirements into actionable technical solutions, working closely with IT and business teams to ensure implementation feasibility and effectiveness. • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations. • Build strategic relationships across departments and with external partners, contributing to enterprise-wide data governance and reporting strategy. • Serve as the primary liaison for executive reporting needs, proactively identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. • Proactively manage risk, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with strategic population health objectives. • Foster a culture of collaboration, problem-solving, innovation, continuous learning, and a one-team mindset. • Perform managerial functions including hiring, training and development, and preparing performance reviews in accordance with UMMS policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, computer science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, population health, or outcomes management.
- 7 years of experience working with healthcare data (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), regulatory reporting (e.g., NCQA, CMS), and supporting clinical or population health programs.
- 7 years of experience analyzing large-scale datasets such as claims, eligibility, provider, laboratory, and quality metrics.
- 5 years of experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting flat files to and from external partners.
- 7 years of experience working in Agile environments, including use of SDLC tools such as JIRA, and managing scheduled jobs and flat file exchanges (e.g., SQL Server Agent).
- Experience with national quality programs and frameworks (HEDIS, PQRS, MU, VBM, P4Q, MIPS). Demonstrated success in process improvement, training, and documentation initiatives.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and data extraction (e.g., Epic, Allscripts, Athena, Centricity). ]

Pay Range: Min: $118,830.40- Max: $178,360.00
